About Our Practice

Dr Torres’s practice is a blend of both traditional medicine and functional medicine. Functional Medicine is a passion of Dr Torres because it allows her the opportunity to evaluate the patient when traditional medicine has reached its limit. It allows a distinct look at the various organ systems and their unique interrelations. The goal of functional medicine is to detect early markers of disease before the actual disease presents. Or to convert an uncontrollable disease into a manageable condition. By educating patients on a specific diet and possibly supplements if appropriate, the patient can take control of their body before actually having to start traditional medications. If traditional medications are needed they can be used at the lowest dose possible.

As Dr Torres tries to be as conservative in her management, she is skilled in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgeon. She prefers to do minimally invasive procedures when appropriate in the hopes of providing low pain, fast recovery and a quick return to the patients’ daily routine.

She also specializes in hormone balancing which is something that can present in women as early at the age of 35 all the way up to menopause. She believes that for decades this population of women have been ignored and had to deal with difficult symptoms that are not quality of life. It is time to support women during this period of time in their life.

Hormone Therapy

Serenity is a women’s health clinic with a focus on relieving hormone-related health issues. These problems are most evident in premenopausal women but also may be seen in postmenopausal women, in women with premenstrual syndrome (PMS), or in cases of postpartum depression.

The hormonal production of a woman’s ovaries, thyroid, and adrenal glands are subjected to an age-related decline. We can help correct hormonal deficiencies with hormone replacement therapies guided by your symptoms — not just your hormonal blood levels.

A few of the methods used to administer hormone treatments include compounded prescription hormone creams, surgically-inserted pellets, injections, skin patches, some oral medications.
